Maurice Evans

Evans signed for reading FC in 1952 at the tender age of 16 years. He played in the wing half position for a staggering ten seasons as he was recognised as one of the most skill full football players in England. He was a gentleman on the field with Reading, never receiving a booking once during his 459 appearances for the club. He is arguably the greatest ever right winger to have played for the Royals. In 1967, he left the club to play for Andover before finishing his playing career with Shrewsbury.
