Steve Richardson

Richardson began his career playing for Southampton in 1979, he went on to spend three seasons at the club, making a good impression of himself with the Saints. He moved to Reading in the summer of 1982 on a free transfer and he soon made an instant impact at the club. During his very long spell playing for Reading he made over 350 appearances for the Royals and he enjoyed plenty of success with the club. He was an integral part of their first team that won the third division championship during the 1985-86 season, in turn winning promotion with the club and he won the Simod cup with Reading FC, defeating Luton Town in the final. He is arguably one of the finest full backs to have ever played for Reading.

 

Kerry Dixon

Dixon began his football league playing career at Reading FC signing for the club for £20,000 in 1980. During his three seasons spell at the third division outfit, he was prolific in front of goal, scoring a staggering 51 goals in his 116 appearances for the club. His outstanding play at Reading FC earned him a lucrative move to Chelsea in 1983 and he soon became a favourite with the fans, his prolific goal scoring form earned him a call up to the England football team. Dixon went on to spend nine years with Chelsea, scoring a staggering 147 in his 335 appearances for the club, averaging nearly one goal every other match played. In 1993 he signed for Luton town, spending two seasons at the club before ending his career with Mill Wall and Doncaster Rovers.
