Adrian Williams

Williams started his career off in the heart of the defence for Reading at the start of the 1989-90 season, a club which he went on too play for during two separate spells. During his first spell in his defensive position for Reading he spent seven years at the club, notching up 196 league appearances, scoring 14 league goals in the process. He later on moved to Wolves in 1996, making just 36 appearances due to many injuries. He moved back to Reading in 2000 and made an instant impact at the club, helping Reading to promotion back to the first division at the end of the 2001-02 season. He was a firm favourite with the Reading fans and left the club in the summer of 2004 for Coventry City on a free transfer. He soon moved on to play for Mill Wall and is now currently playing for Swindon Town.

 

Nicky Shorey

Shorey moved to Reading from Leyton Orient mid way through the 2000-2001 season, for what has proven to be a bargain, £25,000. He is arguably one of the finest ever left backs to have played for Reading FC and his consistent performances for the club, has made him a fans favourite. In total he has now made over 200 appearances and helped the club to promotion in to the premiership by the end of the 2005-06 season.

 

James Harper

Harper commenced his football career playing for Cardiff City during the 2000-01 season. At the start of the 2001-02 campaign, he moved to Reading FC and became an instant favourite with the fans. He has established himself as a key central midfield player at the club, already making over 200 league appearances for the club. He helped Reading to promotion to the premier league at the end of the 2005-06 season.
